UAS operators in Latvia must register with CAA Latvia through the e.caa.gov.lv portal before conducting any operations requiring registration (subcategories A1 with C1 class or above, A2, and A3).
Who must register
Registration is required for any natural or legal person who operates a UA:
- of C1 class or above in A1 subcategory,
- in A2 subcategory,
- in A3 subcategory,
- or any UA above 250 g regardless of class.
Registration process
- Create an account on e.caa.gov.lv.
- Submit the registration application with personal or company details.
- Receive the operator registration number (format: LVA-OP-XXXXXXX or similar).
- Affix the registration number to every UA you operate.
- Maintain third-party liability insurance (mandatory).
Registration number marking
The operator registration number must be permanently and legibly marked on the UA. It may also be encoded in a QR code affixed to the UA.
