◇ SkyGuard mini-game
Pilot's Path — learn drone rules by playing
Fly a drone over a stylised map of Latvia, respect geo-zones and the 120 m ceiling, and answer real A1/A3 exam questions mid-flight. Free, no sign-up.
What the game teaches
- The Open-category 120 m altitude limit and altimeter discipline
- Geo-zone colours: prohibited, coordination and open zones
- VLOS — visual line of sight and distance to your drone
- Pre-flight checks and a safe landing procedure
Game modes
Flights
Pilot a drone on a 2D map, hit mission waypoints and answer questions triggered by flight situations.
Start flying →Questions
A quick round of dispatcher-call questions in the game's style.
Quest
A career campaign: from the park to an industrial inspection and an emergency call.
Missions
1. Park patrol
Run the pre-flight check, reach the observation point and land on the pad — without overflying the assembly of people or exceeding 120 m.
Start mission →2. Riga navigator
Plan a city route: avoid the airport zone, weave between three crowds (when they meet, the danger zone grows!), coordinate in the orange zone and reach the endpoint.
Start mission →3. Industrial inspection
Cross the helipad (its ceiling is 50 m), then climb above 100 m and orbit the warehouse along the blinking route — over the building you may go up to 135 m (the A2 exception). Land on the pad to finish.
Start mission →4. Emergency call
The wind blows toward the protected forest all mission long — keep correcting your course. After the relay point the link drops entirely: the drone drifts harder and responds sluggishly. Regain control and bring it to the recovery point.
Start mission →5. Coastal photo shoot
A commercial shoot by the sea: capture two photo points and return — without overflying the beach crowd or entering private yards (a GDPR question in every yard!).
Start mission →6. Weather recon
Strong gusty wind all mission. Fly the measurement points, stay UNDER the icing clouds (60 m ceiling) and avoid the moving storm cell.
Start mission →7. Night perimeter
Inspect the restricted facility's perimeter along the blinking route — overflying the facility is forbidden. Questions on GNSS spoofing, cyber security and reporting.
Start mission →8. Night flight
Obstacles are hard to judge in the dark: avoid the trees and a rogue drone patrolling mid-map, and reach every checkpoint.
Start mission →9. Insurance claim
A crop-duster sweeps the field — ALWAYS give way. Time your crossing of its lane and document the case at every point.
Start mission →10. Exam flight
The finale: questions from every topic, wind, a crowd and an altitude point — on a reduced battery. Pass it and you're ready for the real exam!

SkyGuard is built on the same EU rules the official CAA exam tests — the Open-category requirements of Reg (EU) 2019/947. When you're ready for serious training, continue with the lessons and the mock exam.
