Telemetry is the live data stream the drone sends to the controller: position, altitude, speed, battery level, satellite count, link quality. These numbers are what the pilot uses in flight to judge what the aircraft is doing.
"Losing trust in telemetry" — values frozen, lagging or implausible — is itself an emergency sign. At that moment treat the aircraft as if you don't know where it is, and get it down.
