Standard Scenario (STS)STS

A predefined specific-category operation type in the regulation, flown under a declaration instead of a full authorisation. STS-01 and STS-02.

A Standard Scenario (STS) is a specific-category operation type already described in the regulation itself. If the operator follows the scenario's conditions exactly, no full operational authorisation is needed — submitting a declaration to the authority is enough. This greatly simplifies typical medium-risk operations.

There are currently two scenarios. STS-01: a VLOS flight over a controlled ground area in a populated environment with a C5-class drone. STS-02: a BVLOS flight with airspace observers over a controlled ground area with a C6-class drone.
